Inspection and quality-control platform

Centralized drawing versioning and a structured inspection tracker that links every field photo and observation back to the exact building plan it came from.

The problem

Drawings and inspections were tracked in spreadsheets, with the latest plan revision living in whichever folder or inbox happened to have it. Crews across multiple sites couldn't be sure they were inspecting against the current drawing, and inspection findings — photos, notes, pass/fail calls — sat disconnected from the plans they described. Reconstructing what was checked, where, and against which revision was slow and error-prone.

What we built

  • Centralized drawing versioning so every site works from the current revision, with history preserved
  • A structured inspection tracker that records observations as data instead of free-text spreadsheet rows
  • Field-photo capture that ties each image and observation to a specific location on a specific plan
  • A clear audit trail connecting what was inspected to the drawing revision it was inspected against

Approach and role

We replaced the spreadsheet-and-folder duct tape with a role-based platform built around how the inspections actually happen in the field. We handled the full stack — the versioning model, the data structures for inspections, the upload and storage pipeline for field media, and the interface crews use on site.

Outcome

Inspections are now traceable end to end: any observation can be tied back to the precise plan and revision it relates to, across every site, without hunting through spreadsheets. It shows how we turn an operational mess of files and ad-hoc tracking into a single system of record.
